The 2nd Workshop of the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (BOA) Cluster was held
The 2nd Workshop of the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles Cluster was held on February 5, 2026, at Istanbul Okan University, in the Prof. Dr. R. Nejat Tuncay Conference Hall. Focusing on international project calls, the workshop addressed raising awareness among cluster members regarding their participation in European Union R&D and innovation programs and developing collaboration opportunities.
As part of the program, Serhat Melik, the National Contact Point for Climate, Energy and Mobility at TÜBİTAK’s EU Framework Programs Directorate, gave a comprehensive presentation on international project calls. The presentation shared key aspects of the Horizon Europe Program’s structure, call priorities, and application processes with the participants.
Following this, the results of the interest analysis conducted within the cluster were evaluated, and participants were divided into thematic working groups. These groups, formed based on calls for proposals, discussed the technical scope, requirements, and potential collaboration models of the relevant project titles.
During the working group sessions, the areas of overlap between participants’ existing competencies and the call requirements were evaluated, and views were exchanged on potential role assignments and consortium structures. In this process, it was emphasized that the international project development approach is not limited solely to technical competence; strong collaboration structures and strategic positioning are crucial.
The workshop, attended by approximately 60 participants, proceeded in an interactive manner with active contributions from representatives of the public sector, private sector, and academia. The assessments made at the workshop formed a foundation that will guide project development efforts to be carried out within the cluster.
